Why I Love Planning Solage Weddings

From a planner’s perspective, a Solage Napa wedding offers one of the most seamless and stress-free experiences in all of Napa Valley. One of the biggest advantages is the built-in rain plan. Solage features the beautiful Solstice ballroom, eliminating the need to rent a tent in case of weather. This alone can save couples $12,000 or more, not to mention the last-minute stress and logistics that often come with tent rentals. Knowing there is a polished, weather-proof option on-site allows couples to plan with confidence and truly enjoy their wedding weekend.

On-site lodging is another major highlight. With guest rooms located directly on the property, couples and their closest friends and family can stay together all weekend, creating a relaxed, destination-style experience. In addition, Calistoga offers an abundance of nearby accommodations, including the Four Seasons directly across the street, along with charming inns, boutique hotels, bed and breakfasts, and the historic Indian Springs Resort and Spa, perfect for guests who want to soak in the mineral pools and fully embrace the wine country retreat vibe.

And then there’s the food — truly outstanding. Solage is known for its elevated, seasonally inspired cuisine, beautifully presented and consistently delicious. From cocktail hour to the final course to late-night snacks, every detail is thoughtfully executed, creating a dining experience that feels just as memorable as the wedding itself. For couples who value exceptional hospitality, comfort, and a flawlessly run event, Solage delivers on every level.

What Ceremony and Reception Spaces are Available at Solage?

Solage Napa offers a variety of stunning spaces for both ceremonies and receptions, giving couples the flexibility to design a wedding that feels uniquely theirs.

For ceremonies, the Solstice Lawn is an easy choice. Its lush landscaping creates a naturally romantic backdrop to say “I do.” The space has peek-a-boo views of the Palisades mountains. The 3,700 square feet make it a wonderful size for weddings of all sizes.

Pro Tip: It’s possible to have your ceremony and dinner on the lawn. While cocktail hour is happening, your vendors work quickly and swiftly to transform the space from a ceremony site to dinner under the stars.

The Solstice Ballroom offers a sleek, natural light-filled space that blends elegance with warmth. The ballroom is 3,500 square feet and feels like a modern farmhouse, with tall vaulted ceilings and a polished concrete floor. No dance floor required makes the design feel inviting and cohesive.  The ballroom works very well for dinner and dancing, or just dancing if you have dinner outside on the Solstice Lawn.

Pro Tip: You can leave the doors (which are very tall) open until 10:00 pm for an indoor-outdoor feel.

The Solstice Courtyard and South Terrace are a beautiful space for a cocktail hour. It’s an intimate gathering space for guests to mingle, sip cocktails, and enjoy appetizers. The fire feature adds additional ambiance and a modern touch.

What Type of Couple Will Love Solage?

Solage is ideal for couples who want a seamless, elevated wedding weekend experience that feels both luxurious and relaxed. It’s especially perfect for those who want their guests to stay on-site, creating a true destination-style celebration, while still offering excellent nearby lodging options at a range of price points. With the Four Seasons directly across the street and numerous boutique inns and charming bed and breakfasts throughout Calistoga, couples can comfortably accommodate every guest's style and budget.

This venue is also a dream for couples who want to avoid last-minute stress and complicated logistics, particularly when it comes to the weather. With a stunning Solstice Ballroom available as a built-in rain plan, couples can skip the anxiety — and the $12,000+ cost — of renting a tent, allowing them to plan with confidence and peace of mind.

Solage is especially well-suited for couples who love to dance and celebrate late into the evening. Because Napa County enforces sound restrictions after 10:00 pm outdoors, Solage’s ballroom becomes a major advantage, allowing amplified music and dancing beyond 10:00 pm indoors — a rare and valuable feature for couples who want a really amazing dance party.

Ultimately, Solage is perfect for couples seeking a truly memorable, joyful, and beautifully executed wedding weekend — one that feels effortlessly fun, thoughtfully designed, and deeply meaningful for both them and their guests.

Insider Tips for Weddings at Solage

One of the biggest perks of hosting a Solage Napa wedding is how much the venue already includes. From ceremony chairs and reception tables to glassware, flatware, and place settings, Solage provides nearly everything you need for a beautifully executed wedding. This not only simplifies the planning process but also allows couples to be more intentional with their design investments. Of course, specialty rentals can always be layered in to personalize the space, but using most of what Solage offers in-house creates a strong foundation that keeps both logistics and budgets streamlined.

A favorite design tip is to use Solage’s tables and chairs for guest seating at dinner, while renting specialty pieces for the head table or sweetheart table. This approach creates a visual focal point without requiring a full-scale rental order, allowing couples to make a noticeable design impact with a relatively low investment. Another simple upgrade that makes a big difference is renting napkins that complement your floral palette. This small detail instantly elevates place settings and ties the entire design together in a thoughtful, cohesive way.

For hair and makeup, Nova is an excellent on-site option, offering both convenience and a beautiful setting to get ready. Its close proximity (it’s right next to the lawn) to the ceremony lawn and Solstice Ballroom makes the day especially seamless, minimizing zig-zagging across the resort property, reducing stress, and allowing couples and their wedding parties to fully relax and enjoy the morning. Having everything centrally located keeps the day flowing effortlessly and timeline on schedule — something that both couples and vendors deeply appreciate.

By leveraging Solage’s extensive in-house offerings and making a few strategic design upgrades, couples can create a high-impact, visually stunning wedding without unnecessary complexity or expense — a true win for both style and budget.

How Much Does a Solage Wedding Cost?

A Solage Napa wedding is considered an outstanding Napa Valley experience, with pricing that reflects the resort’s exceptional service, cuisine, accommodations, and overall guest experience. Many factors affect the price of a wedding, such as guest count, season, design choices, vendor selections, and overall vision.

As a very rough starting point, we recommend budgeting around $1,400 per guest for a 100-person wedding to cover essential vendors (planner, florist, DJ, hair and makeup, photographer, videographer, signage, etc.) along with Solage venue and catering expenses. This estimate does not include additional design upgrades or specialty rentals, such as custom linens, chargers, lounge furniture, upgraded lighting, transportation, or a live band instead of a DJ.

At a budget of $1,400 per guest, your Solage Napa wedding would include tables, chairs, linens, glassware, plates, and flatware provided by the venue. Floral designs would be elegant and thoughtfully styled, though likely more modest in scale and fullness. Entertainment would typically include a professional DJ rather than a live band, still creating a fun, high-energy dance floor and memorable guest experience.

Because Solage includes so many essentials in-house — from furniture and tabletop items to staffing and logistics — couples often find that their overall budget stretches further, allowing them to invest more intentionally in florals, photography, guest experience, and entertainment rather than infrastructure and rentals.

INSIDER TIP: Consider hiring string musicians for your ceremony and cocktail hour to add the beauty and emotion of live music, and make sure your DJ includes dance lighting to keep the energy high once the party moves indoors. These two upgrades offer a significant impact without dramatically increasing your budget.

Real Wedding: Caroline and Casey’s Elegant and Relaxed Solage Wedding

Is there anything better than a Fall Solage Napa wedding? Caroline and Casey’s wedding was one of my all-time favorite weddings to work on. They have roots in Calistoga, so a Solage wedding was an easy choice for them. Caroline and I got along right away and have very similar personalities, so it was a lot of fun to work together. We met because my sister and Caroline worked together, so we had my sister in common, which was wonderful. Our wedding planning calls often drifted into catching up about life in general. During our first call together, before booking, she mentioned that their family friend was a florist, and as luck may have it, the wedding florist she was referring to was EV Floral, one of the florists we work with the most. It felt serendipitous that I was supposed to be the planner for their Solage Napa wedding.

The Couple

There are so many great adjectives to describe Carolina and Casey that it is hard to choose, so I will go with a busy, modern, cool couple who loves to travel and live life to the fullest. Caroline is a California girl at heart, born and raised in San Francisco. Casey grew up on a beautiful beach in central New Jersey and is an avid athlete. He played sports his whole life and even made his way to Duke, where he played basketball.

They have a very unique and very “now” story about how they met. Casey saw a photo of Caroline on Instagram in the "discover" section and realized they had many mutual friends. Curious to know why he didn't know her since they knew so many people in common, he reached out to a mutual friend, and the rest is history! Together they love to cook, eat, try new restaurants, and travel the world.

Why They Chose Solage Calistoga For Their Wedding

They chose Solage Resort in Calistoga because they are big fans of the Auberge properties for their vacations. It was also a huge plus that they could have a full bar and dance inside past 10:00 pm (both of which are hard to find in wine country). Once the wedding ended, the group moved over to the Sol Bar for an after-party.

Solage Calistoga Wedding Planning

The design focused on the clean white aesthetic of Solage Resort with pops of blush, pink, and salmon added to make for a timeless affair. This wedding checks all the boxes with lush florals in a variety of textures, hand-painted watercolor table numbers, and custom signs (including a neon sign for the bar). Other details included late-night snacks, gold flatware, and a classic three-tier wedding cake.

It was really fun to work with Caroline on the design touches for their wedding. One really cool and unique element to their wedding was the florals above the bar. EV Floral took the metal hoops from wine barrels, added greenery and flowers to them, and then hung them above the bar. It was the perfect nod to wine country, without feeling rustic.

Since Caroline loves fresh flowers, it was important to have beautiful and one-of-a-kind flowers throughout the space to really reflect their one-of-a-kind love.

One unexpected joy of working with Caroline and Casey is that we’ve stayed in touch via Instagram. It’s been really fun to see how their life together has grown and see what they are up to.

Solage Calistoga Wedding Day

Caroline and Casey chose to skip the traditional wedding party. Instead, they opted for Caroline’s nephew to be the ring bearer and Casey’s best friend to be the officiant. This allowed for a more relaxed, light-hearted feel to the ceremony. It was short and sweet, but very authentic to the two of them. Their vows had everyone in tears, telling stories about how their paths finally crossed. It was beautiful!

From Their Wedding Planner

This wedding was really an absolute joy from the first meeting to the last hurrah of the night. Caroline and Casey’s positive, fun energy allowed their vision to come to life for everyone in attendance. EV Florals absolutely knocked it out of the park with gorgeous, one-of-a-kind displays that would make anyone envious.

Solage Auberge provided the perfect backdrop for the elegant yet inviting vibe that they wanted. Of course, the outdoor ceremony allowed everyone to take full advantage of this gorgeous late summer day. Every minute of this day was perfection!

Lindsey was my lifeline throughout the wedding planning process. I am forever grateful to her for her candor, her sense of calm, her organization, and her proactive approach to handling my wedding and handling me. Lindsey made everything feel personal, from the check-in emails, and reminders to take time off and relax, to the easy-to-do checklists and charts that helped me stay sane, I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive partner and guide throughout this crazy process. She was flexible and always made sure to find time to hop on the phone, reply to a text, or follow up on an email when I was feeling the weight of decisions or slightly overwhelmed. Most importantly, Lindsey also told me when to just stop overthinking things. She got to know me and my personality and eventually got to a place where she was able to either make choices for me or tell me to stop thinking about the thing and either do it or not. I really needed that trust in her and I had it. I would recommend Lindsey to anyone looking for a beautiful, romantic, organized, and calm wedding planning process. She will not let you down. Thank you SO much, Lindsey!!
