Tanya & Richie’s fall western inspired wedding was low-key elegant with hints of their love of down-home aesthetics. This day was all about family from the family-style buffet dinner to them inviting three couples in different stages of married life (5 years, 38 years, and 56 years) to do readings where they shared their thoughts and advice on marriage, you can tell this amazing day was more about the people who surrounded Tanya and Richie and not just about them. They also beautifully brought the fall season indoors with the gorgeous floral arrangements including the bouquet, blush ballgown, and feathered shawl that Tanya wore. The Four Seasons Resort & Residences Jackson Hole made for the perfect backdrop to this extraordinary event and I am so happy to have been a part of it all.

Hi there! I'm Lindsey and I'm a wedding planner and wedding business coach living in Napa + Sonoma, CA. However, this is not how I got started as a wedding planner. It all started back in Jackson Hole, Wyom. I came to Jackson Hole right after college, like many people do, to be a ski bum and enjoy all the outdoor fun that Jackson Hole offers. One thing led to another and after ten years I really wasn't skiing that much, because I was running my nonprofit consulting business and my wedding planning business.Read More

“Make the ceremony intimate by getting creative with the seating. A circle gives everyone a close and unique view of the ceremony. With a small group, no one's view is blocked by the person in front. Couches and lounge furniture for a few guests is much more feasible than for a large group, so pick pieces that you love and include that as guest seating at the ceremony.” — Lindsey Nickel, owner and planner, Lovely Day Events
Congratulations, you're getting married! Jackson Hole quickly became one of the most popular destination wedding locations thanks to the stunning Teton mountain range, endless outdoor recreation and western atmosphere. Summer weddings are starting in a few months, so be sure that you have thought of everything. Since Jackson Hole is such a unique part of the country, it has some unique things to remember when planning a Jackson Hole wedding.
1. Have a rain plan
The rain comes in every day like clockwork, well a slightly broken clock. Typically, on a beautiful sunny day there is an afternoon thundershower for about 20 minutes. After this, the clouds clear and the sky is sunny again. It is possible that the clouds stay all day and it is too wet to get married outside. Be sure to have a Plan B if the weather is too wet and cold for an outdoor ceremony.
2. Hire a wedding planner
It's never too late to hire someone to help you out. The last three to six months is when a lot of the details get ironed out. During this time, your wedding planner can put together a timeline for the day so that nothing is overlooked, liaison with your vendors so that they have everything needed for the wedding day (did you know that the musicians need chairs provided for them?). On the wedding day, your wedding planner will be an extension of you, making sure everything is set up and ready to go as if you were doing it yourself. Your planner will greet vendors and make sure they all know what's happening, how and when so that the vendors don't come to you with question. With the help of an experienced wedding planner, you will spend your wedding day enjoying champagne and celebrating!
3. Be prepared for nature
There are two things that I see guests unprepared for year after year in Jackson Hole: bugs and sun. Mosquitoes love sunset and the calm hot days that are perfect for wedding ceremonies. Few things are more uncomfortable for guests than trying to sit still during the ceremony or dinner while mosquitoes munch on their legs. The sun is also far more intense at the Jackson Hole elevation of 6,200 feet than visitors expect. Help guests to enjoy your wedding day by providing bug repellent and sunscreen. You can place these in bathrooms or at a welcome table so that people can easily find them.
We were checking our email every day waiting for this shoot to arrive and we are so excited to show it to you now! This is a styled shoot we worked on in July with a very talented group of vendors in Jackson Hole for Rocky Mountain Bride! The red barn at Snake River Ranch was the inspiration for the red pops of color. It was truly a honor to be a part of such a wonderful team! Can't wait to see this in our mailbox in person!

Vineyard weddings never get old! Especially on a sun-soaked day with a beautiful couple!
Lucinda and Lucky were together 7 years before Lucky popped the question with a romantic engagement in Cabo. Being from Colorado, they love being outside and embracing the beauty of scenery. On top of embracing nature, they also share a passion of wine, so when it came to choosing a place to get married, it was very clear that wine country in California was the perfect fit!
When they toured Gundlach Bundschu Winery there was an instant connection and they felt at home with it's secluded and breathtaking scenery surrounded by the vineyard and wine cave. Lucky and Lucinda's goal and inspiration was for the wedding to be elegant, romantic, fairytaleish, and as much fun as only one could dream. They loved the fact that having a destination gave them more time to be with their guests and took the pressure off at the actual wedding.
It could not have been a more gorgeous day and the backdrop was breathtaking! We love working with this couple, and they definitely achieved a fairy tale ending!
