Having a winter wedding can be a beautiful and magical occasion. However, from the decorations to the weather, a winter wedding needs some special considerations. This time of year along with the stress of wedding planning can be exhaustive on your health. Don’t worry: there are plenty of ways that you can prepare for a winter wedding so that you’re happy and healthy when it comes time for the big day.

Care for your Skin and Hair

Cooler weather combined with cold winds and stale air is not always a healthy environment for your skin and hair. These conditions bring split ends, dry skin, and cold sores which makes moisturizers and valacyclovir your best friends. It’s essential to be proactive and handle any insecurity you might have before a winter wedding. When wedding photographs come out and you look back on your wedding day, you’ll want to remember glowing skin and shiny hair that’s full of life. So pay attention to your body’s signals in the months leading up to the wedding.

Allow Time to Recharge

In all the chaos of wedding planning, it can often feel like there’s no downtime. The planning process can start more than a year before your wedding because of the number of details to be organized. With all the aspects of the wedding that need to be arranged, it’s so important that you take time out of your busy schedule to rest. Not only will relaxing a short time each day boost your energy, but it will recharge your mind and help you get back to the grind when you feel burned out. Try scheduling an hour at the end of your day to do an activity that allows you to relax, like yoga, reading a book or listening to music.

Develop Good Planning Habits

When you’re wedding planning, it’s completely understandable if you start forgetting one thing after another. Since no one is perfect, there are plenty of wedding planning tools that you can utilize so you don’t get overwhelmed with all the details. Financially, get an idea of how much you are able to spend and budget out different sections of what you’ll need to invest in. Make a list, do your research, and if you feel like you’re out of your league, consider hiring a professional. Getting an idea of what to expect will keep you from being blindsided by something you think you can’t handle.

Consider the Cold

The weather is a major element to consider when organizing your wedding details, especially when considering your guests. If you’re having a winter wedding, you’ll want to make sure that the venue you choose will be easily accessible during the winter months. Guests may have some distance to travel and you’ll want them to have the safest journey possible. In regards to the ceremony and reception, look at some wedding themes that feel appropriate for the time of year. Consider the cold, too, when thinking about thank you gifts with some cozy wedding favors. Use the beauty of the winter season to your advantage and incorporate some winter details into your wedding to enhance the winter mood.

Ask for Help!

Between the millions of different venues, cakes, dresses, and themes, you can feel bombarded by all the options. Being that it may be your first time planning a wedding, you may feel defeated and unsure what to do first. Around every turn is someone who has been through planning a wedding, so don’t be afraid to reach out and ask questions. It may be that they’re excited to help and have really great insight. If you aren’t sure who to ask, go online and see if a wedding planner will benefit you in the long run.

Remember: Skills like planning, time management, and especially wedding planning are ever-evolving. Give yourself plenty of time to master these skills. The process may not be pretty or perfect, so stay positive. Keep the big picture in mind, seek the help of others, and most importantly, put yourself first.
