3 Things You Might Not Know About Kunde Winery Weddings

Kunde Winery Wedding Venues

Kunde Winery is a beautiful winery in Kenwood, California. For over a century, five generations of the Kunde family have farmed the 1,850-acre estate in the heart of Sonoma Valley. Their winemaking mission is to carry on that tradition by crafting elegant, estate-grown, sustainably-farmed wines with a real sense of place—beautifully balanced and expressive of our dramatic vineyard landscape.

The area is also a stunning winery to have weddings. They have four areas at the winery that make gorgeous backdrops for weddings.

Boot Hill - This is the place you want to be if you are imagining rolling hills of vineyards and views of Sonoma valley. Perched on the top of the hill, there is truly no bad view from any spot. Perfect for weddings up to 250 people.

Winemakers Plaza - This area is located just outside of tasting room and surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Aging Caves - As you enter the doors to the cave, you go into the hillside. Many wedding guests have never been in a wine cave and are thrilled to experience it for the first time, taking tons of photos. At the back of the caves, you’ll find the dining room. Perfect for an intimate wedding dinner or a rehearsal dinner.

Hill House - The craftsman-style Hill House is truly charming. The house can host up to 60 people making it an ideal option year-round.

3 Things Your Might Not Know About Weddings at Kunde Winery

2 Signature Cocktails Are Allowed at Boot Hill

When couples first start researching and contacting wedding venues in Napa and Sonoma, one of the first things they learn is that a winery is not allowed to serve liquor. The wineries are not trying to be a pain in the butt. The truth is that their permits do not allow for liquor to be served.

Cue Kunde Winery to the rescue for couples who must, at least, have specialty cocktails. For weddings at the Boot Hill location, you can have two specialty cocktails. So if you want wine, beer, and a specialty cocktail this is fantastic news.

A House To Get Ready In Before The Wedding Ceremony

Kunde Winery has a really lovely and large getting ready area, it’s a house! The Hill House is a great option for the bride to do hair and make-up, with plenty of space for all the ladies to spread out.

The original owner of the Hill House ran a renowned registered-Hereford herd of cattle on the flats and hills of the property in the early to mid-1900s. The house features beautiful views of the Sonoma Valley and the Mayacamas Mountain range, with Italian Cypress trees and vineyards surrounding a lawn (which would be perfect for a smaller wedding ceremony).

No Minimum Wine Purchase Requirement

In your research of wedding venues, you will find that many wineries have a minimum number of bottles you must purchase. This number is usually based on the number of guests you have attending, regardless of if they drink wine or not.

Kunde winery does not have a minimum number of bottles you have to purchase. This makes planning really easy and more flexible for you. Basically, you just purchase what is opened at your wedding, which is honestly the easiest and most economical way to go.
