Romantic Beringer Winery Wedding - Emily and Sasha

Emily and Sasha’s Beringer Winery wedding was romantic, fun, and filled with pops of blue. Every detail and decision was carefully discussed, resulting in a wedding that represented each of their styles separately and as a couple. They were truly a joy to work with because they were so incredibly kind, appreciative of all the advice from their vendors, and trusted the wedding planning process.

Emily and Sasha are the perfect fit for a full-service wedding planner. First, they knew they did not have time to plan a wedding. Emily was finishing law school and applying for jobs while Sasha was working full-time in the tech industry. They wanted to be involved in the planning and had a vision for the wedding day, but needed help turning their vision into a reality. They also didn’t know which vendors would be the best fit for them and wanted trusted recommendations. Emily loves designing and planning trips while Sasha is very good at logistics and budget tracking. We utilized both of their strengths to create a day that they both loved.

The Couple

Emily and Sasha had been together for five years when they contacted me about planning their Napa wedding. They met online when Emily was in Washington, DC. (she had never online-dated before, but her friends made her download the app to 'get back out there,' and Sasha was one of the only two people she actually met up with—and the first person she matched with!) Sasha was working in tech and Emily was working at a human rights advocacy organization but they moved to the Bay Area when Emily started law school.

Traveling is one of their great joys and they have been to at least ten countries together. Whenever I had not heard from them in a while during the wedding planning, it was usually when I would see an Instagram story with the two of them doing something fun on vacation. They like trying new things together from pottery classes to axe-throwing, to checking out movies, and trying new restaurants.

Why They Chose Beringer Winery

Emily and Sasah got married at the end of  September making it a perfect Fall wedding. They picked Beringer Winery for their wedding because the property has so much character, it’s elegant and romantic, and it fits the wine country aesthetic. They fell in love with it immediately knowing it was the one when they first toured it.

Wedding Planning

Their color palette was neutrals with pops of French blue. The French blue was in the velvet napkins (the perfect texture for Fall), the custom table numbers, and the custom signage. No detail was overlooked with the French blue touches, including using a French blue ribbon to hang the welcome sign.

It is all in the details and one unique touch that they included was the escort cards that were made from polished agate slices. These were a big nod to Emily’s family with their geology background. Polished agate slices make a wonderful choice for escort cards because they are heavy and will not blow away and they also double as small favors.

Wedding Day

Their wedding day was a perfect late Fall day. It was cool, but not cold and a bit overcast (rain was predicted for the next day) which made for stunning photos. The overall vibe was fun and love. You could really tell how much their friends and family loved each of them and them together as a couple.

Beringer winery recently had a new cypress tree planted and Emily and Sasha’s wedding was the very first wedding to have the new tree. It’s always memorable and exciting to be the first wedding to do something at a venue. I highly recommend their dinner table layout with the cypress tree as the backdrop for the head table, it was so beautiful for photos.

Emily wore a stunning white wedding dress inspired by her Greek heritage. Sasha wore a custom suit and she and her brother went suit shopping together on a trip home to New York. Her Christian Louboutin shoes with the pop of red on the soles were the perfect surprise of color. They had a small wedding party where each of them included their sibling and one friend. The ladies wore champagne-colored dresses, perfect for this romantic Fall wedding.

Emily and Sasha also had a custom first dance which was fun, upbeat, and perfectly them! They were both really excited to learn the first dance and perform it for their families and friends. Leading up to the wedding day, they practiced in the basement of their apartment building. Everyone loved it and were all cheering at the end.

From Their Wedding Planner

Truly, the thing that stands out about this wedding is how nice Emily and Sasha are. They would ask if something was possible and say “But if that can’t happen it’s totally fine” and they were being sincere, not just saying that to soften the ask. They really trusted that the wedding day would come out just the way it was supposed to.

It was also very memorable that they both had specific things that were important to them. Emily was very interested in the design and how things looked. Initially, Sasha didn’t really have a strong opinion about flatware or glassware choices but then at the menu tasting with the caterer, they were able to see different glassware options and chargers in person. Sasha saw cut glass rocks glasses that she really liked and they were used for the welcome water station.

They found Lovely Day Events (us) through the Beringer Winery preferred vendors list and this is how we meet most of our clients. It is great for us because we already know that they have exquisite taste because Beringer Winery is simply gorgeous.

Lindsey and her team are incredible! I never doubted for one second that everything would be perfect on our wedding day because of the care and attention to detail she displayed during the whole eight months we worked together. I was finishing law school during the lead-up to the wedding (not recommended!) and was sometimes terrible at keeping up with correspondence and next steps, but Lindsey was always there to keep us on track with gentle reminders and super helpful resources. Lindsey also has amazing relationships with the very best vendors in the area, which makes all the planning not only easier but also more fun! Trust me, you don’t want to worry about a thing more than you have to on your wedding day, and hiring Lindsey and Lovely Day Events is the surefire way to have the most beautiful and carefree day possible.
