2019 Gratitude

Wow, I don’t know about you, but 2019 flew by. A lot happened this year for me personally and behind the scenes in my businesses. More than anything I am tremendously grateful for everything that happened in 2019.

We finally bought a house in Napa! We had plans to move out of the area last July due to the high housing prices, but that fell apart at the last minute and the next thing I knew we were signing papers to buy a house. The day we moved was the first wedding of the year and it was pouring rain! Thankfully CigarHusband oversaw all of the moving that day, so I could focus on our wedding in a last-minute tent. I am so grateful to feel rooted in this place we have called home for the last five years.

Those of you that follow along on either of my Instagram (@lovelydaystrategy and @lovelydayevents) accounts, know that we have an old, blind, rescue dog. I am grateful every day that she is not only still with us but healthy, happy, and enjoying walks around the block. It’s wild to think that she has been in our lives our entire adult lives, more than 13 years. I hope that 2020 is not the year that we say goodbye to her. But if it is, I know that she has had a full, fun, and well-traveled life with us (She has been to more states than most people).

This time of the year I am immensely grateful for all the wedding vendors I have the honor to work with each year. Truly, without their professionalism, patience, experience, and joy for what they do, I could not plan memorable and beautiful weddings for our clients. Thank you to each and every one of you! I know there are stressful days, frustrating days, rainy weddings, power outages, rattlesnakes, cars dying, and more. The power of a team of vendors that enjoys working together, elevates a wedding, and often saves a wedding is enormous. Thank you all.

I am incredibly grateful for every wedding planning client over the last ten seasons. I learned from each one, grown as a planner, and as a business owner. Each wedding played a piece in the next wedding being even better. Thank you to all of you for trusting us with your weddings and referring us to your family and friends. When I look back at the photos, each day comes back to me as if it were yesterday.

This only begins to touch on all the moments and people I am grateful for this year.

It’s wild to think that 2020 will be my 10th year as a wedding planner. I still remember my very first wedding. It was in Jackson Hole and it was a referral from the lady I babysat for.

As I close the chapter of 2019, a decade, and a decade of business, I am optimistic and ready for what is in the future.

Happy holidays to you and your loved ones!
